The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it's alarmed in regards to the high quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The provider position made for sassa status intervention activities a substantial influx of likely beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for your office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to empower the servicing of all buyers and enhance access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
